Navarre Beach Fire District Chief Daniel Fureigh was arrested overnight Sept. 9 for a DUI charge.
Law enforcement arrested Fureigh around 9:30 p.m. on one misdemeanor count of DUI of alcohol or drugs, according to Santa Rosa County jail records.
The News Journal reached out to Navarre Beach Fire District to determine Fureigh’s status with the department but did not receive an immediate response.
In a statement from the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office, the department said Fureigh was booked into county jail following a traffic stop conducted by deputies.
“The Sheriff’s Office continues to prioritize traffic safety and DUI enforcement throughout the county,” the statement said.
As of Wednesday morning, he remained in Santa Rosa County Jail on $500 bond.
