The enthusiasm for the 2025 Green Bay Packers after a Week 1 win over the Detroit Lions will only grow with another game at Lambeau Field in short order, a Sept. 11 battle against the Washington Commanders at 7:15 p.m.
The event, however, will air on Amazon Prime Video. That means there’s a chance — depending on where you live — you’ll need a subscription to the streaming service to watch Micah Parsons chase down quarterback Jayden Daniels, just like old times in the NFC East.
Here’s what to know about how to watch the game:
Will the Commanders-Packers game on Amazon Prime Video also air on local channels?
Only in Green Bay, Milwaukee and Washington, D.C.
Fox6 (WITI) will carry the broadcast in the Milwaukee market and and Green Bay-area fans can catch the game on NBC-26 (WGBA). The latter two are the Packers’ home markets, so they get local broadcasts. However, everyone else in the state outside of those markets (including in Madison) will need Prime access.
How much does it cost to order Amazon Prime?
The Amazon Prime service (with the free shipping when you buy stuff) is $14.99 per month plus tax, and that includes the video services, but video alone can be purchased for $8.99.
There’s a cheaper Amazon Prime plan for young adults and for those eligible for government assistance. There’s also an annual plan for $139 (a little more than $11.50 per month).

Are there any free trials available to Amazon Prime?
Yes, if you haven’t owned Amazon Prime in the past year, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial. You’ll still need to provide credit-card information, and you’ll automatically be enrolled in a monthly subscription once the trial ends unless you cancel in advance. At least then you can order your Micah Parsons Halloween costume on Amazon after watching the Packers game, plus you can watch more Thursday games each of the next few weeks.
Who will announce the game?
Legendary play-by-play voice Al Michaels will be on the call, with analyst Kirk Herbstreit and sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung. The game feed will be the same whether you’re watching on Amazon Prime Video or on local TV.
Are any other Packers games appearing primarily on streaming services this year?
No. We don’t have official TV information for the last two games of the season, but every other game is on a traditional “over-the-air” channel. The team’s “Monday Night Football” game against Philadelphia on Nov. 10 will air on ESPN but also on ABC.
Here’s where to listen to the game on radio
Packers games can be heard on the Packers Radio Network, which includes 54 stations in Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois and North and South Dakota. WRNW-Milwaukee — 97.3 The Game — is the flagship station. Wayne Larrivee does play-by-play and two-time Packers Pro Bowler Larry McCarren provides analysis.
The radio broadcast will be streamed at packers.com. The Packers mobile app will stream the radio broadcast within the Packers’ home market, per NFL broadcast restrictions. Fans within the Packers’ local home marketing area can watch the game on packers.com.
What else do I need to know about the game?
The Packers will be wearing their “Winter Warning” all-white look (strange timing, given the likely warm temperatures) and will honor newly minted Hall of Famer Sterling Sharpe at the game, plus some remembrances on the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
