A man accused of selling cocaine and of telling police he peddled drugs to “various people all throughout Port St. Lucie” was arrested after investigators searched a home where he lived, according to records.
Sedrick Booker, 40, was arrested June 16 on 13 felony charges, almost all of which relate to drugs, and a single misdemeanor charge after Port St. Lucie Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 2200 block of Southeast Master Avenue.
The location is east of U.S. 1 near Southeast Lennard Road and Southeast Melaleuca Boulevard.
Police reported using an informant or an undercover officer to buy cocaine from Booker in February, April and May before investigators got a search warrant for the Southeast Master Avenue home.
Police SWAT team members breached the home’s door and windows after repeated attempts to get someone to come to the door failed.
Ultimately, Booker, his girlfriend and another person came out of the home.
Investigators reported finding about $2,500 in cash, along with cocaine, heroin, marijuana, amphetamines, a firearm and ammunition.
Booker reportedly said he lives in the residence with his girlfriend and children.
“When I gave him the reason for our search warrant, he confirmed to selling different types of narcotics,” an affidavit states. “Sedrick confirmed that he sells narcotics to various people all throughout Port St. Lucie.”
A woman identified by police as Booker’s girlfriend told investigators she was unaware of Booker’s alleged narcotics involvement.
“She stated that he does his business and she stays away from it,” an affidavit states. “She says that she is oblivious to narcotics transactions that occur in the driveway of their residence.”
Booker was released June 17 from the St. Lucie County Jail on $228,500 bond, a jail official said June 23.
