A 64-year-old St. Lucie County man has died from injuries he sustained in a December car crash in Jupiter Farms, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office reports.
Michael Spack of Port St. Lucie died Jan. 9 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach, the sheriff’s office said. Spack sustained critical injuries on the night of Dec. 7 when another vehicle struck his Ford Edge SUV as he exited a shopping plaza along Indiantown Road just west of Florida’s Turnpike.
According a sheriff’s office report, the crash occurred as Spack was exiting the Sierra Square Plaza to travel west on Indiantown.
The Ford crossed into the path of an eastbound Land Rover SUV, causing that vehicle to crash into the driver’s side of the Ford, the sheriff’s office reports. Paramedics responded to the scene and drove Spack to St. Mary’s.
Three passengers in the Ford — a woman and two children — received care for minor injuries at Jupiter Medical Center. The driver of the Land Rover, identified as 37-year-old Okeechobee man, also had minor injuries. The report does not indicate whether he sought medical attention.
Neither drugs nor alcohol were believed to be a factor, and investigators say all occupants of both vehicles were using seat belts.
The sheriff’s report did not indicate that any charges or citations are pending or how fast either vehicle was traveling at the time of the wreck.
