The No. 6 Florida State Seminoles are looking to salvage the series against the No. 3 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Saturday in Atlanta, Georgia. It is nearly time for the first pitch of Game Three from Russ Chandler Stadium.
The Seminoles (24-10, 9-5 ACC) lost the first two games of the series, suffering their first series loss of ACC play this season. Both games have been competitive, but they have been unable to survive three big innings from the Yellow Jackets. The offense has also not done nearly enough, scoring just six total runs in the series.
John Stuetzer has been hot at the plate, blasting two solo home runs in Friday’s 8-3 loss. He is 5-8 at the plate in the series with two homers, three RBI, and three runs scored. He has struggled in the field and on the bases, though.

Georgia Tech (29-5, 14-3) has now won its last 11 games, with six of its wins coming against ranked opponents, cementing its status as one of, if not the, best teams in the country. While FSU’s pitching staff has contained their high-powered offense, they are 8-23 (.347) with runners in scoring position and are grinding out great at-bats.
FSU is now 81-53 all-time against Georgia Tech, including 31-26 on the road. Georgia Tech has now won back-to-back series in Atlanta against the Seminoles.

The Yellow Jackets took control of the game in the fifth, scoring five runs on six hits. They have scored in the bottom of the inning every time that FSU has scored.

Florida State is once again up by one run, the third time this game. They have allowed a run in the bottom of the inning after each of their first two runs, something Cole Stokes will be looking to stop.

The Seminoles are back on top, taking a 3-2 lead on a sacrifice fly from Brayden Dowd. He drove in Chase Williams, who had a leadoff single. Dowd is 2-2 with a sacrifice fly, a home run, and two RBI.

Chase Williams started the fifth inning with a leadoff triple, giving FSU a great chance to beat the 2-2 tie.
Cole Stokes has an efficient inning
Stokes took over for Bryson Moore on the mound and had an efficient fourth inning, retiring the side on 14 pitches with one strikeout. The game is tied 2-2 entering the fifth inning.

Cole Stokes has replaced Bryson Moore to start the fourth inning. Moore allowed two runs in three innings on three hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Stokes has a 3.86 ERA in 11 2/3 innings pitched, walking 16 batters and striking out 16.

Bryson Moore is coming off arguably the best start of his career last week, throwing seven innings of shutout baseball against the Virginia Cavaliers, earning ACC Pitcher of the Week honors. He allowed just one hit and two walks to go with seven strikeouts. The Seminoles will need him to be at his best against Georgia Tech’s tough lineup.
Jackson Blakely has moved into the starting rotation as a sophomore and has been excellent for Georgia Tech. He has not allowed a run in his last three starts, pitching 16 1/3 innings and giving up just eight hits and three walks with 14 strikeouts.
