On Thursday, Posey was announced as a member of the 2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame by the College Baseball Foundation, and he is now the ninth player in Florida State baseball program history to earn the distinction.

A standout for the Seminoles, Posey was the 2008 consensus national player of the year. He won the Dick Howser Trophy, Golden Spikes Award, Brooks Wallace Award and Johnny Bench Award.

Posey’s 2008 season is among the best in collegiate baseball history. He led the country in batting average (.463), hits (119), RBI (93), total bases (226), on-base percentage (.566), and slugging percentage (.879). He won the ACC triple crown, only the fourth player in league history to do so.

In the MLB, Posey went on to be one of the defining catchers of baseball’s 2010’s. He won three World Series titles with the San Francisco Giants, where he currently serves as the president of baseball operations. Posey was the Rookie of the Year in 2010 and won an MVP in 2012 for the Giants.

He is one of 21 players to be selected to the 2026 College Baseball Hall of Fame class. Posey joins Dick Howser, J.D. Drew, Mike Martin, Terry Kennedy, Danny Litwhiler, Mike Fuentes, Gene Ammann, and Mike Loynd as the only Seminoles to be elected.
