Florida football already boasts a top-5 recruiting class nationally according to ESPN’s latest team rankings.
Yet, the job isn’t finished as the program is actively pursuing blue-chip prospects and looking to flip committed players who continue to engage with new head coach Jon Sumrall and staff. The Gators remain in the mix for these blue-chip prospects as official visit season resumes.
Kennedee Jackson is a four-star offensive tackle from Lithonia, Georgia, who visited Gainesville on May 28. 6-foot-6-inch, 297-pound prospect is ranked as the No. 135 overall prospect in the cycle. Florida battles LSU, Georgia Tech and Georgia for Jackson’s services.
The Gators are trending in a positive direction for Kamuari Whitfield, who also toured the Swamp on May 28. A three-star cornerback from Orlando, Whitfield, who stands at 5-foot-11-inches, 185 pounds, decommitted from Tennessee back in February.
Cahron Wheeler is a 6-foot-5 inch, 266-pound four-star edge rusher from Baltimore, Maryland. The No. 11-ranked defensive lineman in the 2027 cycle has an official visit set with Florida for June 5. The No. 108 overall recruit is expected to choose between Clemson, Auburn, Tennessee and Florida.
A priority target for Florida is Fredrick Ards, the four-star edge rusher who plays for Jones High School in Orlando, Florida, where he recorded 80 tackles and 11 sacks as a junior. At 6 feet 4 inches and 220 pounds, Ards is ranked No. 15 at his position and No. 109 overall. Ards will be on campus June 4.
North Miami product Andre Hyppolite has an official visit set for June 4 with the Gators. Hyppolite is a 6-foot-1-inch, 180-pound safety. The No. 211 overall prospect according to 247Sports composite is considering Miami, Minnesota and Georgia alongside Florida.
Florida is trying to flip Texas Tech commit and five-star defensive lineman Jalen Brewster, a Cedar Hill, Texas native who stands at 6 feet 3 inches, 302 pounds. Easton Royal is also one of the biggest names in the cycle. A dynamic five-star athlete, Royal is committed to Texas but has engaged with Sumrall and the Gators staff since reopening his recruitment.
