One of the most intriguing battles going on throughout the Miami Dolphins organized team activities and eventually into training camp is the competition in the wide receiver room.
Miami moved on from Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine this offseason, while signing a group of veterans and taking a trio of rookies in the draft to help take their place.
However, there’s a holdover in the group who is trying to separate himself: Malik Washington.
The 25-year-old was a sixth-round pick of the Dolphins in the 2024 NFL draft out of Virginia, where he earned All-ACC honors and led the NCAA in receptions in his final season with the Cavaliers.
Over the last two seasons, Washington has caught 72 passes for 540 yards and three touchdowns while serving as the team’s primary kick and punt returner.
We got a glimpse of Washington competing for a job recently, as the Dolphins released a social media video from organized team activities with the wide receiver on the mic.

While it’s great to see Washington working, it was also awesome to see him celebrating Greg Dulcich’s one-handed grab, showing the energy that he brings to the building.
