“Airlines were once known to discount fares on Tuesdays, with competitors quickly matching their prices,” a Forbes published April 2026 reads. “However, this advice is outdated: Airlines can (and do) update prices dynamically, with the best fares popping up sporadically rather than predictably.”
The article cited a 2025 study by Expedia that found that Sunday is the cheapest day to book flights. However, the savings are not that drastic.
Booking Sunday only saves travelers an average of 6 percent on domestic flights and up to 17 percent on international flights, according to the article.
