New Philadelphia's Marcus Adelman wins OHSAA state title in 3,200 meters

COLUMBUS — After standing in the sixth spot a season ago, New Phila’s Marcus Adelman stand alone at the top of the podium after winning the 1600-meter race.

“I’m elated, this has been a four-year goal of mine,” Adelman said. “I didn’t know if I would be able to achieve this, but my constant hard work was the key to my success.”

Adelman finished with a time of 8:58.66 at the OHSAA Jesse Owens Track and Field Championships at Ohio State Saturday, June 6.

Last year, Adelman finished with a time of 9:02.03.

”I ran the race of my life last season,” Adelman said . “It really fueled my this season especially after the worst cross country season of my life.”

Adelman captured gold in his final season with the Quakers

”There’s been a lot of people who have helped me get to this point,” Adelman said. “The support system I’ve had here in New Philadelphia has been unparalleled.”
