This poignant and humorous one-woman show returns for four special performances, at 7:30 p.m., Friday, July 25 and 3 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27.

The show offers a heartwarming and hilarious tribute to one of America’s most treasured columnists and humorists. Returning in the title role is Louise K. Cornetta, whose portrayal of Bombeck earned her a 2022 Broadway World Award nomination for Best Solo Performance.

Tickets are now available at $35 for members and $40 for non-members and can be purchased online at marcoislandart.org/arts-center-theatre/ or call the box office at 239-784-1186.

2. MONDAY: ‘Happy Hour for Hope’ at Esplanade

The public is invited to the upcoming “Happy Hour for Hope,” from 5 until 7 p.m., Monday, July 28, at Mango’s Dockside Bistro, 760 North Collier Blvd. in the Esplanade.

Attendees will enjoy complimentary appetizers and happy hour-priced drinks while relaxing to live music, all for a suggested donation of $20.

A 50-50 drawing will add to the fun and funds. These monthly events raise funds to purchase raw food materials for the upcoming packaging event Saturday, Nov. 8, at the Marco Island Charter Middle School.

Meals of Hope Marco Island is a joint effort of Sunrise Rotary, Noontime Rotary and the Kiwanis Club. To learn more, visit mohmi.org or contact us at marcomealsofhope@gmail.com.
