When is Coco Gauff's next match? See updated 2026 French Open schedule

Florida native Coco Gauff didn’t have any trouble beating the Paris heat for her second straight match at the 2026 French Open. Now the reigning champion is one step closer to winning her third grand slam title.

The 22-year-old from Delray Beach outlasted Mayar Sherif in what was a wild day at Roland Garros. With No. 2 Elena Rybakina already out in the women’s draw, men’s No. 1 Jannik Sinner and No. 5 Ben Shelton both went down Thursday with temperatures in the 90s. A fan at the Gauff-Sherif match required medical attention, stopping play for about 5 minutes in what was already a 15-minute-long game.

At No. 4 in the WTA rankings, Gauff remains on track to face rival Aryna Sabalenka in a potential semifinal. Her serve was much stronger against Sherif than it was in her first-round win over Taylor Townsend, though she did hit eight more unforced errors. Next up is 30th-ranked Anastasia Potapova, who dropped her first set against Katie Boulter before storming back for a 5-7, 6-4, 6-2 victory.
