The 2025 high school football season is here, with most teams preparing for regular-season action starting on Aug. 29. Teams across the Redding area have been gearing up with interschool scrimmages, padded practices and intense training.
Record Searchlight readers can now vote for their 2025 high school football preseason player of the year. The poll of 42 athletes includes players from Foothill, U-Prep, Enterprise, Shasta, Anderson, Central Valley, West Valley and Redding Christian.
The poll closes on Sept. 12, and the results will be posted on Sept. 15. There are no voting restrictions, so vote now and spread the word.
