Warriors' record-breaking endorsement deal sets new precedent in the NBA

The Golden State Warriors announced a new endorsement deal early Thursday morning as they agreed to a contract with technology company IREN. However, the value of the deal wasn’t released until Thursday afternoon.

According to Sportico’s Kurt Badenhausen, the deal is worth a value of over $50 million per season, breaking a record for the most expensive sponsorship in the history of North American team sports. IREN will replace Rakuten on Golden State’s jerseys. Rakuten has been the Warriors’ jersey sponsor since the 2017-18 season but will remain endorsement partners with the team in other capacities.
