A brush fire broke out near homes in Phelan on Friday, officials said.
The Trinity Fire was first reported at 11:52 a.m. May 1 at Trinity Road and Acanthus Street, according to San Bernardino County Fire Department logs.
It grew to 20 acres in size in under an hour, according to Cal Fire, which assisted SBCFD in the firefighting effort.
But water-dropping aircraft were helping firefighters make progress in bringing the blaze under control, Cal Fire officials added.
The flames were burning through light-to-moderate fuels, spreading at a moderate rate, fire officials reported. At least five structured were considered threatened.
No further details were immediately avaiable.
