The Los Angeles Rams have yet to announce official jersey numbers for their incoming rookies, but it appears Ty Simpson has already picked his number. And it’s a number that was occupied by a wide receiver last season.
In the Rams’ fan shop on Fanatics, the team is selling Simpson’s jersey with the number 15 on it. Konata Mumpfield wore that number as a rookie last season, so it seems Mumpfield will have a new number in 2026.
Simpson started out wearing No. 6 at Alabama before switching to 15. He also wore 6 in high school before playing for the Crimson Tide. The Rams’ roster hasn’t been updated yet, as Mumpfield is still listed as No. 15, but that seems to be Simpson’s number now.
Mumpfield wore No. 9 in college at Pitt but that number is obviously secured by Matthew Stafford, so he’ll need to find a new number. He also wore No. 14 at one point in college; Mario Williams currently wears it for the Rams.
