Two Stockton residents plead guilty to 2025 home invasion in New Jersey

Two Stockton residents pleaded guilty this week to a 2025 home invasion in Point Pleasant Borough, New Jersey that resulted in a gunshot being fired, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced.

Jaheim Wilson, 24, and Oleyah Brown, 22, entered their guilty pleas on June 15 before state Superior Court Judge Guy P. Ryan.

Wilson also pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a weapon in connection with the burglary.

The pair is set to be sentenced on Aug. 28 with the state seeking a prison term of seven years for each defendant at New Jersey State Prison.

The sentence term would include the No Early Release Act meaning a prisoner must serve the majority of their prison term before becoming eligible for parole.

Officers from the Point Pleasant Borough Police Department were called at about 1:38 p.m. on Aug. 7, 2025 to a residence on Barton Avenue on a report of a home invasion with a gunshot being fired.

When officers arrived they found that the rear door to the home had been forced open and the home burglarized.

An investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit and the police department revealed that a man identified as Wilson, who prosecutors say possessed a handgun, and a woman, identified as Brown, had kicked open the door of the residence.

The occupant of the house was present in the residence at the time, prosecutors said.

Prosecutors said Wilson and Brown then began to burglarize the home and took personal property that belonged to the owner of the residence.

Before Wilson and Brown fled the home, Wilson fired a single gunshot into the air, a statement from the prosecutor’s office said.

On the same day of the home invasion, Wilson and Brown were located in Toms River, New Jersey and arrested.

In connection with Wilson’s weapons charge, prosecutors said they will seek a concurrent five-year prison term at New Jersey State Prison which will include a mandatory 3½-years of parole ineligibility.
