In an extraordinary 17-day turnaround, Terrible’s will reopen the Primm Valley Casino at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.
Since assuming management of the property on July 5, Terrible’s has had hundreds of team members working around the clock to bring the iconic Nevada property back to life for its guests.
The doors will open to the public following brief announcements from Terrible’s leadership, including vice president of advertising and marketing Bryan Breeden, vice president of gaming operations Mark Bennett, and the grandson of the Primm founders, Cory Clemetson.
The property will reopen with 422 gaming machines, 250 rooms, a William Hill Sports Book, a sports bar and a 24/7 quick-bites eatery.
In addition, there will be no resort fees, and all previously held rewards tiers earned by returning customers will be matched.
Starting July 22, Terrible’s will launch new promotions and rewards for both new and returning gaming customers. Terrible’s immediate plans include opening several new dining options, including a coffee bar, a 24-hour casual dining café and a steakhouse. Work is already underway on these projects and more, company officials said.
Terrible’s saves 300 jobs
Terrible’s full-service gas station and convenience destination saved more than 300 jobs at the Primm Stateline casinos by acquiring management from Affinity Gaming, which sent a termination letter to employees on Tuesday, May 5, stating that the Stateline properties would be permanently closing by July 4.
According to a press release, Affinity Gaming estimated losing between $10 million and $15 million annually, and stated that leasing the Stateline properties was no longer viable.
Terrible’s, which is owned by the Herbst family, assumed management of the Primm Center, Chevron gas station, Flying J, Whiskey Pete’s Travel Store, Lotto Store and Starbucks on July 1 and reopened them by July 2.
They took ownership of the Primm Valley Resort, Buffalo Bill’s Resort & Casino and Whiskey Pete’s Hotel & Casino on Sunday, July 5.
Both Buffalo Bills and Whiskey Pete’s were closed at the time of the transition.
According to KLAS, Terrible’s offered every Primm employee their job back, and approximately 300 employees accepted. Terrible’s also said on-site employee housing remains open, allowing workers and their families to remain in their homes during the transition.
