Takeaways from Steve Kerr's first meeting with Warriors front office

Two weeks after Golden State’s Play-In Tournament loss to the Phoenix Suns, Steve Kerr met with Warriors owner Joe Lacob and team general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. Monday.

That said, while the two sides had a “productive” meeting, no decision on Kerr’s future has been made.

According to ESPN, Kerr will take a previously planned trip before reconvening with the front office again next week.

Considering the 2026 NBA Draft isn’t until late June, Kerr and Golden State have plenty of time to make a decision.

However, if Kerr were to depart after a long, drawn-out decision-making process, the Warriors could be behind in their next coaching search compared to other teams with head coach vacancies.
