It’s been more than two weeks since the Arizona Cardinals hired Mike LaFleur as their new head coach, poaching him from Sean McVay’s staff in Los Angeles. McVay has taken his time finding a replacement, holding zero reported interviews for the still-vacant offensive coordinator position with the Rams.
In fact, no team has taken longer to find an offensive coordinator than the Rams. As Adam Schefter of ESPN pointed out, every team but the Rams has hired an offensive coordinator. They’re the last team in the league to fill that position.

There are no indicators of who might replace LaFleur on McVay’s staff, either.
The Rams are reportedly hiring Kliff Kingsbury to an undisclosed position on their coaching staff, but it doesn’t appear to be as their offensive coordinator. Nate Scheelhaase, who interviewed for multiple head coaching jobs around the league, would be a natural replacement for LaFleur but there’s been no movement on that front, either.
We’ll continue to wait for the Rams to hire an offensive coordinator but now that every other team has already filled that position, they don’t really have to rush. And it’s possible McVay likes Scheelhaase for the job. He could just be looking at outside candidates to see who’s available, as he often does when positions come open.
