In years past, the Los Angeles Rams had a top-heavy roster. They allocated a lot of their cap space to a handful of their best players, forcing them to cut corners at other positions in order to save money.
In the last few seasons, however, they’ve built a more balanced team. Matthew Stafford and his $84 million contract are obviously an exception because of the position he plays, but money is spread out pretty evenly across the rest of the roster.
Just look at the Rams’ 15 biggest cap hits for the upcoming season. Stafford will cost nearly $30 million more than every other player, but Nos. 3-15 on the list are only separated by less than $10 million.
Here’s a breakdown of the team’s 15 most expensive players for the upcoming season, according to Over The Cap.

In addition to those 15 players eating up most of the cap space, the Rams will also have to pay out more than $40 million in dead money to players who are no longer on the roster.

This picture could look very different in 2026 if the Rams reward Kyren Williams and Puka Nacua with lucrative extensions between now and next offseason, likely putting them near the top of the list behind Stafford in terms of cap charges.
Kobie Turner, Byron Young and Steve Avila will also be eligible for extensions in 2026 before hitting free agency the following year. So while the Rams have some cheap starters now, that could change in the coming years.
