Prediction and betting odds for Lakers vs. Jazz

The Los Angeles Lakers host the Utah Jazz on Tuesday, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, money line odds and over/under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet.

The Lakers’ five-game road trip is over, and they return home for a game against the struggling Jazz (5-8) while holding a 10-4 record and fourth place in the Western Conference. They’re getting set for LeBron James’ season debut after a bout with sciatica over the last several weeks. If he doesn’t play on Tuesday, he could be available this Sunday when these two teams play in Salt Lake City or next Tuesday when the Lakers host the Los Angeles Clippers.

Lakers vs Jazz injury reports

Jazz: Kyle Anderson (right low back injury management), Kyle Filipowski (right wrist sprain) and Taylor Hendricks (right hamstring strain) are questionable. Walker Kessler (left shoulder injury recovery) and Georges Niang (left foot fourth metatarsal stress reaction) are out.

Lakers: LeBron James (right sciatica) and Gabe Vincent (left ankle sprain) are questionable.

Advice and Prediction:

The Jazz may be struggling, but forward Lauri Markkanen has been on a tear to start the season. He’s averaging 30.6 points a game while shooting 47.9% from the field and 38.9% from 3-point range on a high volume of attempts, and he scored 47 points in a double-overtime win on Sunday three days after putting up 40 points. Needless to say, containing him will be job one for Los Angeles.

One thing the Jazz do well is rebound. They rank sixth in total rebounding percentage and fourth in offensive rebounding percentage. Their prowess on the boards has taken a hit ever since center Walker Kessler suffered a season-ending shoulder injury a few weeks ago, but backup Jusuf Nurkić has filled in decently, and he’s a big load on the boards at 6-foot-11 and 290 pounds. That means Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes will need to box out well and limit Utah to one shot.

But as long as the Lakers don’t play down to the level of their competition, they should win fairly easily, especially after trouncing Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks by 24 points on Saturday.

Prediction: Lakers 123, Jazz 110
