Rams offensive 'triplets' climb to No. 2 spot in NFL rankings

The Los Angeles Rams boast one of the most explosive and feared offenses in the NFL, and national analysts are taking notice. In CBS Sports’ newly released “triplets” rankings for the 2026 NFL season—which evaluates every team’s top quarterback, running back, and pass-catcher trio—the Rams secured the No. 2 spot in the league, averaging a composite score of 2.1.

The three-headed monster of quarterback Matthew Stafford, running back Kyren Williams, and wide receiver Puka Nacua has officially established itself among the league’s elite.

This mark represents a massive leap from where the group stood just a year prior. Going into the 2025 campaign CBS Sports ranked this same trio at No. 7, as analysts weren’t sold L.A.’s young and unproven pieces alongside Stafford’s health concerns.

Well, that unit proved doubters wrong in 2025, as Stafford won MVP, Nacua had his best season to-date and Williams continued to be a consistent force on the ground.

Los Angeles climbs the rankings on the back of Stafford’s MVP season, which, incredibly, started with people unsure if he’d even be able to play due to a back injury he sustained during the preseason. Remember that storyline? Incredible. Williams saw his playing time cut into by Blake Corum toward the end of last season but he remains a quality back, while Nacua is a target vacuum who produces at a level no other receiver can match when he’s on the field. The issue is keeping him on the field, both due to injuries and, now, concerns about off-field volatility.

While Stafford’s stellar season acts as the main engine for this jump, the surrounding pieces continue to carry heavy weight. Williams remained highly effective despite sharing late-season carries with Corum, finishing with a third-consecutive 1,000-yard, 10-touchdown season. Nacua, meanwhile, led the league in receptions while finishing second in receiving yards in 2025.

Only the Cincinnati Bengals (Joe Burrow, Chase Brown, and Ja’Marr Chase) managed to edge out the Rams for the top spot in CBS Sports’ rankings.

With Sean McVay’s offense firing on all cylinders and their marquee triplets leading the charge, Los Angeles looks primed for another highly productive season.
