The Texas Tech Red Raiders got out to a hot start in the 2027 recruiting cycle, and their momentum has not slowed over the past several weeks. Throughout the official visit season and into the summer, the Red Raiders have held strong in the rankings, despite not having any commitments yet this month.
However, they remain in the top 10 of the recruiting rankings, which is particularly notable with the latest Rivals300 update, which was released this week. Following the update, Texas Tech sits at No. 9 in the nation, just behind the Florida Gators, and just ahead of the LSU Tigers. The Red Raiders have the No. 1 class in the Big 12.
Texas Tech has a pair of 5-stars leading the way, with defensive lineman Jalen Brewster at the top of the list. Brewster is rated the No. 1 overall player in the nation, and holding on to him until signing day in December is going to be no easy feat.
The Red Raiders also have 5-star EDGE Anthony Sweeney, the No. 16 player and No. 2 EDGE in the nation.
There are still several big names on the board for Texas Tech to follow over the next several months, so don’t be surprised if they can continue to climb in the rankings.
