Authorities identified the man who died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing an Oxnard street near Five Points on May 2.
Jesus Gomez Soriano, 50, was from Oxnard, according to the Ventura County Medical Examiner’s Office. He died of multiple blunt force injuries, and his death was deemed an accident.
Gomez Soriano had been walking across Wooley Road, just west of Commercial Avenue around 11:30 p.m., when he was struck by an SUV driving west on Wooley, Oxnard Police Department officials previously said.
The 50-year-old pedestrian did not walk across a marked crosswalk.
Gomez Soriano landed in the eastbound lanes and was pronounced dead at the scene, police officials said.
The driver, a 21-year-old Oxnard man, stayed at the scene after the crash and was not cited for any possible infractions, police said.
