The Gainesville Regional reaches its winner-takes-all moment on Monday when the Florida Gators face the Troy Trojans in Game 7 after the former won on Sunday in a 16-11 slugfest at Condron Family Ballpark. The Gators outlasted the Rider Broncs, 8-7, in the regional opener on Friday before opening up an offensive onslaught in a 22-10 victory over the Miami Hurricanes on Saturday. The Trojans made it to the championship game after losing to Miami on Friday, 10-5, beating Rider in the elimination bracket on Saturday, 15-7, and winning the rematch with the Hurricanes in a 9-6 victory in Sunday’s early game.
Monday’s winner will advance to the super regional round, where they will face the winners of the Hattiesburg Regional, the Little Rock Trojans. If Florida is victorious, the Gators will host the Gainesville Super Regional from Friday, June 5, to Monday, June 8.
