Once again, USC baseball’s season comes down to a decisive road game

After dropping its NCAA Tournament opener on Friday, the USC baseball team has now won three consecutive games. The Trojans will now battle Texas A&M on Monday night with a trip to the super regionals on the line.

Andy Stankiewicz’s team actually found itself in an identical position last year. Playing in the Corvallis Regional, the Trojans advanced to the regional final against host Oregon State, with the region coming down to a decisive seventh game.

Unfortunately, that battle did not go very well for USC. The Trojans could neither score nor stop the Beavers from scoring, as they suffered a 9-0 blowout loss that ended their season.

Now, a year later, USC is back on the same stage. Once again, the Trojans’ regional will come down to a decisive game against the host school—this time in College Station against Texas A&M. After being on the wrong end of things last year, Stankiewicz and company are hoping for a different outcome in 2026.
