The Chargers signed defensive lineman Dalvin Tomlinson to a one-year, $7.5 million deal with $6 million fully guaranteed.
Tomlinson was released by the Cardinals on March 6 as the organization cleared up $9.4 million in cap space. Just a few days later, he inked a deal with the Bolts.
Last season, Tomlinson started all 17 games for the Cardinals, posting 26 tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack. The 32-year-old has been a bit of a journeyman throughout his nine seasons in the NFL, playing for the Giants, Vikings, and Browns.
The addition of Tomlinson should provide Chris O’Leary’s defense with another experienced veteran. Moreover, he should aid the Chargers’ run defense.
Tomlinson is general manager Joe Hortiz’s latest sneaky, smart pickup.
