A 32-year-old man driving a motorcycle has serious injuries after crashing into an SUV on Harbor Boulevard in Ventura on July 18, according to authorities.
At 12:15 p.m., Ventura Police Department officers responded to calls of a motorcyclist who collided with an SUV near the 2100 block of Harbor Boulevard, Cmdr. Edward Caliento said. Ventura Fire Department and emergency services responded to the incident as well.
An initial investigation found that the motorbike was traveling eastbound on Harbor Boulevard, when a Fiat SUV pulled out of fast food chain McDonald’s turning left to enter westbound Harbor Boulevard lanes, the commander said.
The motorcyclist hit the SUV and was ejected from his seat, Caliento said.
The motorcyclist, who was on a vehicle registered to an address in Ventura County, has been taken to a local hospital with ‘critical injuries,’ the commander said.
The driver of the SUV, a 45-year-old with a vehicle registered in the county, stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
The driver later went to a local hospital for minor injuries, Caliento said. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor.
