It’s mid-May and the Coachella Valley Firebirds are still playing and that’s a great thing to be able to say.
The Firebirds have staved off elimination four times and are now set to vie for their third Pacific Division title in four years. They face the imposing Colorado Eagles starting Wednesday night.
So it’s a perfect time to hear about the drama of the last round and to look ahead to the next round with one of the Firebirds mainstays. Veteran John Hayden is the latest guest on the Fire & Ice Podcast and he joins host Judd Spicer for a playoff edition of the podcast sponsored by Desert Willow Golf Resort.
