Rams top trade candidate could be 8-TD playmaker

The Los Angeles Rams might not be thinking about doing any big trades in the coming weeks following their blockbuster move for Myles Garrett, but that doesn’t mean they won’t.

Bleacher Report’s Moe Moton identified every team’s top trade candidate before the 2026 season and landed on tight end Colby Parkinson for L.A. Parkinson had a career year for the Rams in 2025 with 408 yards and eight touchdowns, but the team’s tight end room is getting a little too crowded with Terrence Ferguson, Tyler Higbee and 2026 second-rounder Max Klare. Parkinson, therefore, could be the easiest to move on from if another team comes calling.

According to The Athletic’s Nate Atkins, the Rams hope 2025 second-rounder Terrance Ferguson “takes the lead” in the tight end room.

Assuming Klare, Ferguson and Higbee are roster locks, Colby Parkinson or Davis Allen could be the odd man out if the Rams keep four tight ends. They’re both entering the last year of their deals.

Allen doesn’t have much trade value, though. He’s hauled in just 40 passes for 342 yards and four touchdowns in 47 outings.

Parkinson is more likely to draw interest on the trade market after racking up career highs in catches (43), receiving yards (408) and touchdowns (eight) last season.

Parkinson has a $9.08 million cap hit in 2026, per Over the Cap, with a $5.5 million base salary. That’s a cheap deal for a team that needs a starting tight end, but a bit expensive for a Rams squad that already has three viable options for their offense.

While he was great in 2025, this past season was a career outlier for Parkinson as well. He had never finished a year with more than 30 receptions, 322 yards or two touchdowns in any of his previous five seasons in the NFL.

The Rams don’t need to make any moves now, but they could offload Parkinson to a needy team if they’d prefer to develop their young tight ends rather than a player entering a contract year.
