After securing an impressive win over the Houston Rockets on Thursday, the Golden State Warriors’ road trip continued with another tough contest against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Before facing the defending champs, the short-handed Warriors received some much-needed reinforcements in the form of recently-acquired big man Kristaps Porzingis.
Since landing with the Warriors at the NBA trade deadline in a blockbuster deal that included Jonathan Kuminga, Porzingis has played only one game. The 7-foot-2 center has been dealing with an illness, causing him to miss the last six games.
After traveling with the Warriors from the start of their road swing, Porzingis got the green light to play on Saturday night. Porzingis played 23 minutes off the bench against the Thunder, scoring nine points on 3-of-10 shooting from the field to go along with five assists, five rebounds and a block in Golden State’s 104-97 loss. Porzingis missed all three of his attempts from deep.

In two games with the Warriors, Porzingis is averaging 10.5 points on 42.1% shooting from the field and 25% from beyond the arc. Porzingis is adding three rebounds, three assists and a block in 20 minutes per contest across two games in Golden State.
