DUI suspected after Fawnskin man killed in crash between motorcycle, SUV at Big Bear Lake

DUI was suspected after a crash between a motorcycle and an SUV alongside Big Bear Lake left a Fawnskin man dead on Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The crash took place about 6 p.m. along Big Bear Boulevard, just east of Rim of the World Scenic Byway and Bear Valley Dam, according to the California Highway Patrol.

It involved a Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a small SUV, CHP Officer Devin Julien said.

The motorcyclist, identified by San Bernardino County coroner’s officials aas 54-year-old William Brandt, succumbed to his injuries at a hospital about an hour later, officials said.

A woman at the wheel of the SUV was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving, he said.

Further details regarding the circumstances of the crash were not available Tuesday, nor was the identity of the suspect.
