Palm Springs Aerial Tramway closed Sunday due to technical issues

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway closed on Sunday, May 3 due to technical issues.

It took guests who already took the tram up to the Mountain Station back down to the Valley Station after closing around 11:25 a.m. The Desert Sun has reached out to the tramway for more information.

The tramway is a popular and longstanding destination for tourists and even residents in Palm Springs. It opened in 1963 and considered to have the world’s largest rotating tram car. In about 10 minutes, visitors can ride the tram car from the Valley Station at 2,643 feet elevation to the Mountain Station at 8,516 feet elevation.
