The time has arrived in San Bernardino County for potential candidates to file for a run for office in the 2026 General Election.
Residents interested in running for a seat in the November election can begin the filing process on Monday, July 13.
The candidate filing period will continue until 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, according to the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters.
More than 300 local offices are up for election in San Bernardino County, including school district, special district and city offices.
Prospective candidates may obtain the appropriate candidacy documents from the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters at 777 E. Rialto Ave. in San Bernardino, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Candidates are encouraged to schedule an online or in-person appointment on the Registrar of Voters website at Elections.SBCounty.gov.
Anyone interested in serving on the board of directors of the following special districts may also obtain candidacy documents directly from each district during regular business hours:
Regardless of where candidacy documents are issued, completed candidacy documents must be filed with the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters no later than 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 7.
To qualify as a candidate, a person must be a registered voter residing within the district and division or area, if applicable, at the time candidacy documents are issued.
Prospective candidates may confirm their registration and residency status within a district and division or area using the Registrar of Voters’ My Elections Gateway application at Elections.SBCounty.gov.
Anyone interested in running for a city office must obtain and file their candidacy documents at the appropriate city clerk’s office during regular business hours.
