Fire crews responded to a 16.1-acre fire in Anderson on Monday afternoon, July 13.
According to the Watch Duty app, the Hill Fire was reported on the 17000 block of Happy Hills road southwest of Anderson.
Evacuation orders were reduced to evacuation warnings for zones COT-9520 and HAP-7490, according to Watch Duty.
Watch Duty reported the fire was “holding at 15 acres,” and later said the final fire size was 16.1 acres.
By 1:30 p.m. Monday, resources on the fire were being released as crews continued to make good progress on the blaze, according to scanner reports.
Scanner traffic initially reported multiple spot fires and that the fire had been spreading at a moderate rate in a southwest direction and over 10 structures were threatened.
