There are no more World Cup games in California, but there are still watch parties soccer fans can attend, including ones in Camarillo on July 18 and 19.
The city of Camarillo and Visit Camarillo are set to host a free public viewing party for the third-place and final matches of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at Dizdar Park in Old Town Camarillo. Visit Camarillo is operated by the Camarillo Hotel and Tourism Association.
Soccer enthusiasts and casuals alike of all ages are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs to watch the games on an LED screen set up on the grass, according to a Visit Camarillo news release.
The third-place match is scheduled to air on July 18 at 2 p.m., and the final match is scheduled to air at noon on July 19.
The city’s economic development department applied for a viewing license directly with FIFA and was able to get the event officially sanctioned by the soccer organization, one of the few in the county, said Yuliana Garcia, executive director of Visit Camarillo in an email.
The event overlaps with the Camarillo Old Town Heritage Days Fiesta fair, just a few blocks from the park, Garcia said.
Vendors won’t be on site to provide refreshments, but organizers encourage fans to support local businesses in the area that do provide food and drinks, or attend the fair.
Organizers also encourage attendees of both events to take public transportation, such as the train or trolley.
