Anthony Davis names former Lakers teammate he misses most

During his five and a half seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers, Anthony Davis sometimes received plenty of criticism from fans for being injury-prone and for his perceived weaknesses. But he gave the Lakers a consistent superstar big man, and his arrival immediately resulted in them winning the NBA championship in 2020.

After being sent to the Dallas Mavericks in last year’s Luka Doncic trade, Davis was then shipped to the Washington Wizards in February. While the Wizards haven’t been competitive for most of the last several decades, they could have a decent team next season now that they will have the No. 1 pick in next month’s NBA draft.

As part of his TBS show “Foul Play,” Davis pulled an expensive prank on former Lakers teammate Austin Reaves by having him participate in a fake contest with $250,000 and a vehicle at stake. The 10-time All-Star then said that Reaves is the one player from his days with the Lakers he misses.

“I miss him,” said Davis. “Out of everybody on the team, I really miss him. That was my guy.”

During his time with the Purple and Gold, Davis saw Reaves evolve from an undrafted rookie to a borderline All-Star-level player. The guard averaged 23.3 points and 5.5 assists a game this season, and while he performed inconsistently during the playoffs, he’s poised to earn a major payday this summer once he opts out of his contract and becomes a free agent.

Hopefully LeBron James doesn’t find out about Davis’ comment about Reaves.
