Simi police said they found the man driving what was described as a dark-colored Honda Accord about a mile away near the intersection of Los Angeles Avenue and Barnes Street. Police pulled over the car, found a gun registered in his name in the trunk and arrested the man.

Police said the man does not live in Simi Valley but no additional information was immediately available.

Based on their investigation, Simi police said that the man had been in a fight at the Hibbert Court home. At some point, the man went to the trunk of his car and got out a gun and pointed it at family members. As he left, the man fired the gun into the air and shot three or so times, police said.

The man was arrested and booked into Ventura County jail on suspicion of felony assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor child endangerment. He is being held on $320,000 and is set to appear in Ventura County Superior Court Jan. 27, according to jail records.
