A former preferred walk-on for the Spartans has landed on one of the top group of five programs in the country via the transfer portal.
Michigan State football transfer edge rusher Stone Chaney has committed to Memphis. Chaney announced his commitment to the Tigers via a social media post on Monday.
Chaney was a former three-start prospect in the 2024 class, coming to Michigan State as a preferred walk-on. He is originally from Novi, Mich. and starred for Michigan high school power house Detroit Catholic Central.
At Michigan State, Chaney appeared in only one game across two seasons — recording two tackles against Prairie View A&M during the 2024 season. He will have three years of eligibility remaining.
