Bronson kids cool off at annual Polish Festival

BRONSON, MI. — Hundreds of kids, along with parents, filled Douglas Park on Friday, July 17, for the annual Polish Festival Kids Day.

Smokey skies did not hamper the enthusiasm as kids played games, collected candy and snacks, and waited for the last half hour for the Bronson Fire Department to turn on the aerial truck spray nozzle.

The department sets up its trucks on Franklin Street north of the one-acre park. Always popular are opportunities to use fire hoses to spray down a mock-burning house.

On the other side of the truck, two carts raced down parallel hoses powered by a fire hose spray.

Teens from Bronson High School, as members of athletic teams, man the games and booths.

Business and Bethel-Gilead Church provide games and handouts to kids.
