Two Longhorn baseball stars are taking their talents to the global stage. on Sunday, Luke Harrison and Anthony Pack Jr. earned spots on the 2026 USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. The Longhorns duo will get to compete in the inaugural World Collegiate Baseball Championship in Taiwan that goes from July 11-15.
For Pack, the honor comes as no surprise after what he did as a freshman. He finished his first season on the Forty Acres with a .355 batting average in 61 games. While serving as one of the Longhorns most potent bats, the California native drove in 56 runs while adding 28 extra-base hits to his resume. He built on that success over the last few weeks.
In exhibition play, Pack led Team USA in triples with one, total bases with ten, and RBI with five. He also ranked second on the team in slugging and was tied for second in hits and walks. As he shone at the plate, Harrison impressed on the mound.
Harrison finished exhibition play with a team-high 10 strikeouts. He also did not allow a run while holding opponents to a .133 batting average. In 4.1 innings of work, the former Longhorn star allowed just two hits and joined a list that includes some of the best players in program history.
With Pack and Harrison’s selections official, the Longhorns have had 34 players make the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team. They are the ninth duo to earn the honor in the same year in program history. The list of former Longhorns who have made the team in the past includes Huston Street, Corey Knebel, Hoby Milner and Drew Stubbs.
After a few off days, Pack and Harrison will get to play against some of the best college athletes in the world from in less than a week. While it is only a small sample size, those four days should be full of unforgettable moments for two players with bright futures.
