As part of Utica Public Library America250 Series, Oneida Nation’s Ron Patterson will lead a discussion on the role Oneida Nation played during the Revolutionary War on July 8, at 5:30 p.m.
His presentation is expected to highlight the role Polly Cooper, an Oneida woman who played in helping the patriot cause.
According to Utica Public Library’s promotion of the event, Patterson is involved in the Living History program, as interpreter and re-enactor He works with the National Park Service at Fort Stanwix, Saratoga, Oriskany Battle Monument and Valley Forge, imparting the poignant story of the Oneida Nation during the Revolutionary War.
The event is free and all are welcome.
Patterson manages the Oneida Heritage retail store and Oneida Nation Shako:wi Cultural Center providing education about the history of the Oneida Indian People.
