Fire crews stopped a 15-acre vegetation fire from continuing to grow in Shingletown.
The Lava Fire was stopped at around 4 p.m., about 90 minutes after it was first reported just before 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 20 in the area of Campo Dios Road.
The fire, which consumed oak woodlands and grass, initially had a moderate of spread, according to Watch Duty, which tracks fires and emergency response.
Fire officials on scene requested an air tanker, and retardant was dropped across the head and right flank of the blaze, Watch Duty reported.
A helicopter crew also fought the fire, while additional resources were summoned to fight the fire, Watch Duty said.
