Wisconsin Badgers secure commitment from top player in Montana

Wisconsin landed an early building block for its 2027 recruiting class through a commitment from wide receiver Steele Harris, a high three-star prospect out of Great Falls, Montana.

Harris brings the kind of size the Badgers have prioritized on the perimeter. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound wideout profiles as a big-bodied target with a large catch radius, giving Wisconsin a natural option for contested throws and red-zone work as the staff stacks pieces for the future. Harris also showed run-after-catch ability in his scouting profile, a trait that fits Wisconsin’s push for receivers who can turn short completions into explosive plays.

The offer list added weight to the win on the trail. Harris held offers from California, Arizona State, Illinois, and Michigan State, among others, and Wisconsin beat out that mix to pull a talent from Big Sky country. For a program that recruits nationally but still leans on fit, Harris checked boxes as a physical, downhill receiver who can win through contact.

Harris’s commitment also gave Wisconsin a long runway to develop him, both physically and within the route detail required in the Big Ten. The Badgers will keep working to round out the 2027 receiver board, with camp performances and junior-season film likely to shape which targets join Harris next.
