Miami vs Florida live updates: Start time, TV for NCAA baseball regionals

Miami baseball’s rivalry against Florida writes another sterling chapter today in the winners bracket of the 2026 NCAA tournament. A win would put the Hurricanes one game away from reaching the super regionals for the second straight year.

UM started the Gainesville Regional by beating Troy 10-5. The Hurricanes stormed past the Trojans with a five-run eight inning and 12 total hits to outslug the Trojans. AJ Ciscar will get the nod against the Gators, who came out on top of Rider 8-7 in a crazy game that saw six home runs over the final two innings, capped by Brendan Lawson’s walk-off shot. Sophomore Aidan King, the SEC pitcher of the year, is expected to start for UF. He was third in the SEC with a 2.68 ERA and second with an 0.98 WHIP this season.

Daniel Cuvet injury update

Third baseman Daniel Cuvet, a preseason All-American and a Golden Spikes semifinalist last year, has been out since April 22 with a stress fracture in his back. Miami coach J.D. Arteaga said though he is swinging during practice and is progressing, he did not expect Cuvet to play in the regional.

NCAA baseball regional format

The NCAA baseball tournament begins with 16 four-team regionals who play a double-elimination tournament over the weekend. Each team is guaranteed to play at least two games, with the team who qualifies for the regional championship from the elimination bracket playing two games Sunday. If that team beats the entrant from the winners’ bracket, a winner-take-all game will take place Monday.

The regional champion advances to next week’s super regionals, a best-of-3 series hosted by the higher-seeded team determined by the bracket. The winner of the Gainesville Regional will face the Hattiesburg Regional’s winner. If the two regional hosts move on, No. 8 Florida would host No. 9 Southern Miss.

When is College World Series 2026?

The regionals kick off the NCAA baseball tournament, which will conclude with eight teams in Omaha, Nebraska starting June 12. The championship series is scheduled for June 20-22.
