Wisconsin to wear throwback uniforms for Week 7 rivalry game vs Iowa

The Wisconsin Badgers are going with a throwback theme for their Week 7 rivalry game against the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Announced in late August, the new uniform kit includes an old-school red ‘W’ on a white helmet, red tops with throwback lettering, and white pants with two red stripes down the sides. The program recently changed its social media profile picture to remind fans of Saturday’s throwback theme.

The Badgers are 2-3 (0-2 Big Ten) entering the critical matchup against the Hawkeyes (3-2, 1-1 Big Ten). The team has lost three consecutive games, the last two vs. Big Ten opponents, all by at least two touchdowns. It still leads the all-time series against Iowa 49-47-2. However, the Hawkeyes have won three straight, including a 42-10 triumph in Iowa City, Iowa, last season.

Wisconsin fans hope that the team reflects the uniform’s old-school look when it takes the field against the rival. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET, 6 p.m. CT on Fox Sports 1.
