It didn’t take long for quarterback Tommy DeVito to find a new home after being waived by the New York Giants on Tuesday during final cuts.
The New England Patriots quickly scooped up the New Jersey legend off the waiver wire on Wednesday afternoon.
DeVito was waived after the Giants decided to keep just three quarterbacks this year — Russell Wilson, Jameis Winston, and rookie Jaxson Dart.
DeVito was the only quarterback claimed during Wednesday’s waiver period.
With the Patriots, DeVito will join last year’s first-round pick, Drake Maye, and veteran Josh Dobbs in a what was a very thin quarterback room.
The Patriots once attempted to sign DeVito before he landed in East Rutherford with the Giants.
