Trump set to appear at Rockland event with Mike Lawler. What we know

President Donald Trump will come to Rockland County to appear at an event with Rep. Mike Lawler on Friday, May 22, according to an announcement from Lawler’s re-election campaign and news reports.

Lawler’s campaign sent a blast text on Monday, May 18, inviting people to request one or two tickets for a 3 p.m. event, without describing it or specifying a location. His campaign spokesman hasn’t yet responded to a request for more information.

No details about the nature of the event were immediately available from the White House press office.

The Monsey Scoop news site reported on Monday that Trump will join Lawler and constituents for an official White House event on the first day of Yom Tov Shavuos, a two-day Jewish holiday.

A slew of Trump administration officials have visited Lawler’s Hudson Valley district to hold events with him in recent weeks as the second-term Republican gears up for a tough re-election fight in a battleground district. Five Democrats are competing in a June 23 primary to take on Lawler for a critical seat in this year’s midterm elections that will help determine which party controls the House for Trump’s last two years as president.

This story will be updated as more information is made available.
