When officers arrived, two adults had made it out of the home safely. A third person, a 44-year-old Canton man, was still inside the house, police said.

Firefighters later found the man dead on the second floor of the home.

The Canton Police Department’s Fire Investigative Team and the Canton Fire Marshal are investigating the fire. The cause has not yet been determined, police said.

Canton Township Fire Chief Christopher Stoecklein was not immediately available for comment.
